Georgia visa questions, answered
General
Do Indians need a visa for Georgia?
Yes, unless you hold a valid visa or residence permit from the US, the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Israel, an EU or Schengen country, or a Gulf country. In that case you can enter visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180. Everyone else applies for the e-visa online before travelling.
Is there a visa on arrival in Georgia for Indians?
No. Indian passport holders apply for the e-visa before they fly. It is quick to get and needs no embassy visit.
How long can I stay in Georgia on the e-visa?
Up to 30 days in total, within a validity of 120 days. It allows multiple entries, so you can leave and come back while it is valid, as long as your total stay stays within 30 days.
What does the Georgia e-visa look like?
It is a PDF sent by email, with your details, the validity dates and the number of days you may stay. Print it and carry it with your passport. It gives the same right of entry as a visa sticker.
Can I visit Armenia or Azerbaijan on a Georgia visa?
No. A Georgia visa covers Georgia only. Armenia and Azerbaijan each need their own visa, and we can arrange those as part of the same trip.
Documents
What documents do Indians need for a Georgia visa?
A passport valid 3 months beyond the visa, a recent photo, your last 3 months' bank statement, travel and health insurance of at least GEL 30,000, a hotel booking and a return ticket. Salaried, self-employed, student and retired travellers each add one or two documents of their own, and your checklist shows exactly which.
Is travel insurance mandatory for Georgia?
Yes. Since 1 January 2026 every visitor needs health and accident insurance covering the whole stay, valid across Georgia, with cover of at least GEL 30,000, in English or Georgian. We can arrange a policy that meets this.
How do I show I have enough money for the trip?
Your bank statement for the last 3 months is the usual proof. An employer's letter with your position and income, property documents, or a signed sponsor letter also count.
Someone else is paying for my trip. What do I need?
A signed, dated letter from your sponsor with their name, address and phone, your relationship, where you are going, for how long, and which costs they cover, plus their recent bank statement.
Do children need their own Georgia e-visa?
Yes. Every traveller, whatever their age, needs their own passport and their own e-visa. We link a family's applications so they are looked at together.
What are the photo rules?
A recent photo taken within 6 months, facing the camera, with your head filling 50 to 70% of the frame. No phone snapshots, no copies from an ID card, and a child must be alone in the photo.

How much is the Georgia visa fee for Indians?

How long does a Georgia e-visa take?
The government takes at least 5 working days. With us it is usually about 7 working days from the day your complete documents reach us, or about 5 with Priority filing.
When should I apply?
Two to three weeks before you fly, and a little earlier for June to August, when Georgia is busiest.
Can a family apply together?
Each traveller files a separate application, but we file a family together and link them, so they are examined as one group.
Can I apply while I'm already in Georgia?
No. The e-visa can only be applied for from outside Georgia.
