Thailand, Reef, Limestone and Marine Park

The journey

Six nights and three bases, two nights each: the Phi Phi speedboat out of Phuket, the four islands off Krabi, and the Angthong marine park from Koh Samui. The two Andaman legs join by road and Koh Samui by catamaran, so the whole trip needs no domestic flight at all — which is unusual for a Thai three-centre and is the reason this one holds its price.

What stands out

  • Phi Phi Islands by speedboat with lunch, Maya Bay included
  • Three bases, no internal flight — road to Krabi, catamaran to Koh Samui
  • Krabi's 4 Islands — Tup, Chicken, Poda and Phra Nang — by longtail, with lunch
  • A full day in Angthong Marine Park, snorkelling and the lagoon viewpoint

Day by day

How the 7 days actually run.

  1. Day 01

    Phuket

Arrive, transfer, check in. The rest of the day is the beach.

    Phuket

  2. Day 02

    Phi Phi Islands

Phi Phi by speedboat with lunch — Maya Bay, the snorkelling stops and Phi Phi Don. Swimming inside Maya Bay itself is not permitted, and the day is planned around that. Back mid-afternoon.

    Phi Phi Islands

  3. Day 03

    Viewpoints, then Krabi

Big Buddha and the Karon viewpoint in the morning, then about three hours by road across to the Ao Nang side of Krabi. Check in and swim.

    Krabi

  4. Day 04

    The 4 Islands

Tup, Chicken, Poda and Phra Nang by longtail, with lunch and time in the water at each. Tup and Chicken are joined by a sandbar at low tide, which is the part children remember.

  5. Day 05

    Across to Koh Samui

A travel day, and we will not pretend otherwise: coach to the pier and the catamaran across the gulf, roughly six hours door to door. Into Koh Samui by late afternoon.

    Koh Samui

  6. Day 06

    Angthong Marine Park

A full day in the marine park — 42 islands, snorkelling stops and the climb to the viewpoint over the inland lagoon. Lunch aboard.

  7. Day 07

    Home from Koh Samui

    Transfer to Koh Samui airport.

What's included

  • 2 nights in a 4★ hotel near Ao Nang, Krabi, with breakfast
  • 2 nights in a 4★ beach resort on Koh Samui with breakfast
  • Phi Phi Islands by speedboat with lunch, on a sharing basis
  • Big Buddha and Karon viewpoint, taken as part of the Phuket–Krabi road transfer
  • Krabi 4 Islands tour by longtail with lunch, on a sharing basis
  • The Krabi to Koh Samui coach-and-catamaran crossing, with pier transfers both ends
  • Angthong Marine Park day tour with lunch and snorkelling equipment, on a sharing basis

  • Private air-conditioned car with an English-speaking driver in Phuket and Krabi
  • Entrance fees wherever the itinerary names a site

What's not

  • If you would rather fly Krabi to Koh Samui than cross by coach and catamaran, that flight connects through Bangkok or Phuket and is not inside the price shown. We book it for you
  • Ang Thong national park entrance fee, collected at the park — a few hundred baht per person, paid on the day
  • International flights
  • Visa fees and processing
  • Travel insurance
  • Meals not named in the itinerary
  • Personal expenses, tips and porterage
  • Peak-season and festive surcharges (Jul–Aug surcharges quoted separately)
  • Anything not listed under Inclusions
  • Land only · per person · twin share
  • Minimum 2 travellers
  • Rates are subject to availability and confirmation at the time of booking
  • Indian passport holders currently enter Thailand visa-free for up to 30 days — we confirm the position in force for your dates before you book
  • Thailand requires an electronic arrival card to be filed before you fly — we send you the link and the deadline with your documents
  • Phuket, Krabi and Koh Samui do not share a monsoon — the Andaman coast is wet roughly May to October, the Gulf roughly October to December, and no month is ideal for both sides. We tell you which coast will read better on your dates before you book
  • Day 5's crossing runs to one or two fixed departures a day and takes about six hours door to door. It is the reason this trip needs no domestic flight, and it is a day spent travelling — if that is not acceptable, we requote it as a flight
  • Angthong is a national park: tours do not sail in heavy weather and the park closes for part of the Gulf monsoon. A cancelled day is rebooked or refunded
