Vietnam, Da Nang and the Golden Bridge
5★ hotel in Da Nang · Breakfast · Airport transfers
A morning in the cloud at fifteen hundred metres, and a beach to come back down to.

Vietnam
By the fourth city nobody is checking the itinerary any more.
Nine days and the whole country — Hanoi, the bay, Da Nang and Hoi An, then Saigon and the Mekong. The three nights in Saigon at the end are deliberate: it is the city with the most for a family to do and the easiest one to fly home from. Two internal flights carry the distance so the days go on the ground rather than in a coach.
Day by day
Arrive, transfer in, and an Old Quarter cyclo ride if the flight lands early enough. Otherwise the evening is free.
Hanoi old quarter
City touring — the Temple of Literature, Hoan Kiem lake, the French quarter and Train Street. The Thang Long water puppet show in the evening.
Drive to the coast and board the overnight cruise around midday. Lunch aboard, Sung Sot Cave, kayaking and Titop Island, and sunset from the deck.
Ha Long Bay
Morning on the bay, brunch aboard, then the drive back to Hanoi for the evening flight to Da Nang.
A full day at Ba Na Hills — the cable car, the Golden Bridge, the gardens. Early cars to stay ahead of the crowds, back to Da Nang by late afternoon.
Ba Na Hills · Da Nang
The Ancient Town walking tour in the morning, then the basket boats in the coconut forest at Cam Thanh, and the evening flight south to Saigon.
Ho Chi Minh City
The Cu Chi tunnels in the morning, the War Remnants Museum or the central district in the afternoon.
A full day out to My Tho and Ben Tre — sampans through the canals, the orchards, a local lunch, and back to the city by evening.
The Mekong Delta
