Vietnam, Da Nang and the Golden Bridge
5★ hotel in Da Nang · Breakfast · Airport transfers
A morning in the cloud at fifteen hundred metres, and a beach to come back down to.

Vietnam
Breakfast in the Old Quarter on Tuesday, and by Friday the children are arguing about which city was better.
Five nights, two cities and a night on the water — the whole length of Vietnam without a day spent in transit for its own sake. Hanoi first, because it is the easier city to land in, then the bay, then Saigon and the Cu Chi tunnels. The cruise night is what separates this from every 4N city break on the same route: children who will not sit through a museum will kayak into a cave.
Day by day
Arrive, transfer in, and an Old Quarter cyclo ride in the late afternoon. Nothing else is booked — the first evening after a flight is not the day for a museum.
Hanoi old quarter
City touring — the Temple of Literature, Hoan Kiem lake, the French quarter and a stop on Train Street for coffee. The Thang Long water puppet show in the evening.
Drive to the coast and board the overnight cruise around midday. Lunch aboard, Sung Sot Cave, kayaking or a tender out to Titop Island, and sunset from the deck.
Ha Long Bay
Early morning on the bay, brunch aboard, disembark, and the drive back to Hanoi for the afternoon flight south. Evening free in Saigon.
The Cu Chi tunnels in the morning with a guide, then the War Remnants Museum or the central district in the afternoon, whichever the family has appetite for.
Ho Chi Minh City
