The same city and the same delta as our family Saigon trip, entered from the water. Arrival night is dinner moving up the Saigon River; the tunnels take a morning and the afternoon after them is deliberately unbooked; the delta takes the whole of day three. The War Remnants Museum sits on the itinerary as a choice rather than a fixture, which is the honest way to put a war museum in a honeymoon.
Day by day
Arrive, transfer and check in. In the evening, a dinner cruise up the Saigon River with the District 1 skyline going past.
Ho Chi Minh City
Out to the Cu Chi tunnels for the morning. The afternoon is deliberately unbooked — a Saigon half-day is there if you want it, and it takes in the War Remnants Museum.
South to My Tho and Ben Tre for the day — the main river by boat, sampans through the narrow channels, coconut workshops, the orchards and lunch. Back in the city by evening.
The Mekong Delta
Nothing is scheduled. Breakfast, then the airport when you are ready.
